About Medical Marijuana in Rhode Island
Rhode Island legalized medical marijuana in 2006 under the Edward O. Hawkins and Thomas C. Slater Medical Marijuana Act. Patients can purchase up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana per month and access various forms like edibles, tinctures, and topicals. The process of getting a card typically takes two to four weeks. Renewals and applications are done online through the RI Cannabis Licensing Portal.
